Classic British hat maker Yvette Jelfs creates show stopping couture millinery for discerning clients looking for style, luxury and individuality.
Yvette started her millinery career as an apprentice in Luton, the hat making capital of England.
Upon completion of her apprenticeship she went on to work with Graham Smith in his London workrooms. Gaining a position as a designer she created collections for high street retailers as well as capsule collections for high end retailers.
Setting up on her own in 1980, Yvette created hats and headpieces that have been worn worldwide by princesses to pop stars, gaining an international following for best quality at an affordable price.
In addition to creating couture pieces, Yvette also designs and produces collections for various design houses and boutiques. These collections are produced at our Scottish Design Factory, Noble Headwear Ltd, situated in the heart of the Scottish Borders.
All hats are made up in our new block house, where the skilled workforce block, machine and hand sew the hats using local fabrics. All represent the heritage of the local Scottish artisan producers and feature tweed, cashmere, felt, sisal, sinamay and straw which are incorporated into our seasonal collections.
Our collections are designed following key trends of the season. By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation, we are proud to create elegant British made products from quality British sourced materials.
Our products have personality and originality, drawing on the strong Yvette Jelfs heritage as well as being modern and stylish.
